Our Commitment to Your Privacy

At Sherlock Investing, we are committed to protecting your privacy online. Our pledge is to safeguard any information we collect associated with you and your name, and to use use the information only in the way that we state. Below are the guidelines we use for protecting any information you provide us during a visit to our Internet site.

Mailing List

If you place your name on our mailing list, we ask for your name and e-mail address. We pledge that this name and address will never be passed on or sold to any other company. Currently these names are stored on a single computer with appropriate backup precautions. 

We also ask for your country of residence. The reason for this is from time to time Sherlock Investing runs seminars and workshops in particular countries or has a stock analysis that is only relevant to a particular country. Only the people in the relevant country or countries will receive mailings about these events or analyses.

You may unsubscribe from the mailing list at any time. When you do this, all information about you is deleted.

Online Purchases

When you make an online purchase, the information you provide allows us to process and fulfil your order, and to notify you of your order status. We need to know your name and billing and mailing addresses; these are stored along with a record of the products you purchase. 

If you decide to purchase online using a credit card we also need to know your e-mail address and your credit card details (number and expiration date). 

Apart from any mailing requirements, your name and address is used to help verify that you are the legal owner of the credit card. Credit card verification is accomplished through Authorize.Net, the world's leading credit card authorization service for online businesses.  As part of the verification process, the system may compare street addresses and zip codes. Once an online order has been confirmed, credit card information is not reused or stored by Sherlock Investing.

You are automatically placed on the mailing list when you make a purchase from the site. At any time you can unsubscribe from this list.

Protecting Your Information

When making an online purchase at Sherlock Investing, we use the secure server supplied by Authorize.Net. When your browser communicates with a secure server all information is encrypted, keeping it private. This technology makes it safer to transmit your credit card information over the Internet. To use this server, your Web browser must support SSL (Secure Socket Layers).

Only authorized Sherlock Investing employees have access to stored information. For example, after a credit card order has been confirmed, no credit card information is passed to the order fulfilment section. We use the information you provide about yourself only to complete that order. We do not share address information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to complete that order.

How You Can Access Or Correct Your Information

You can access all your personally identifiable information that we collect online and maintain by e-mailing or writing to us and asking for any records we have about you. To protect your privacy and security, we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections. 

You can correct factual errors in your personally identifiable information by sending us a request that credibly shows error.
